NDU SC | THIRD INTER-SCHOOL SPORTS CHALLENGE

For the third year in a row, Notre Dame University- Shouf Campus hosted the Inter-School Sports Challenge which extended from Friday, April 21, 2017 till Saturday, May 6, 2017. Organized by the Student Affairs Office under the supervision of Father Dominique Nasr, the Challenge saw the participation of over 12 schools.

After almost two weeks of competitions, the winning teams received their awards on the concluding day as they were cheered by their school mates and supporters. Father Hanna Tayar, Director of NDU-Shouf Campus, congratulated the winners asserting that “NDU-SC’s firm belief in the power of youth, the importance of their wellbeing and the significance of physical exercise and health prompts it to encourage sports among the young as a tool for physical wellness, healthy sportsmanship and friendly competition.”

“Always challenge yourself,” Fr. Tayar said and “let us learn civic togetherness from healthy sports spirit,” as he proceeded to distribute the cups and medals to the winning teams.

The results of the NDU-SC 3rd Inter-School Sports Challenge came as follows:

In Women’s Basketball:
1st place: Shouf National College - Baakleen
2nd place: Cedars Cultural School - Kabrshmoun

In Men’s Basketball:
1st place: Saint Elie School - Saida
2nd place: Shouf National College - Baakleen

In Men’s Futsal:
1st place: Saint Elie School - Saida
2nd place: Beirut International School - Bchamoun
3rd place: West Wood School - Bchamoun

In Women’s Futsal:
1st place: Shouf National College - Baakleen
2nd place: Cedars Cultural School - Kabrshmoun

In the Men's Table Tennis:
1st place: Jad Saadeddine (Shouf National College)                                             
2nd place: Rayan Hamadeh (Shouf National College)
3rd place: Gee Rino (Shouf National College) and Kawthar Satoura (Cedars Cultural School)

In the Women's Table Tennis:
1st place: Maria Azzi (Shouf National College)                                          
2nd place: Rawan Bou Hosson (Cedars Cultural School)                                       
3rd place: Sara Thebian (Shouf National College) and Elena Slim (Shouf National College)

The celebration ended by taking commemorative pictures and a celebratory toast.
